FOr Undergraduate STUDENTS
Undergraduate students are more than welcome to participate in this study!
Interested in working with high school students and teachers and participating in educational research promoting equity in science education? We’re assembling a team of undergraduates to help with a project engaging 7 high school chemistry and physics teachers and approximately 300 students in 9th through 12th grades. The project is a partnership between UCI and Tustin Unified School district, designed to create inclusive curricula and promote complex thinking for students from under-represented communities. As an undergraduate research assistant, you would help with data collection at the schools, including interviewing teachers and students and observing class sessions. You would also help with data analysis (including opportunities to conduct your own mini research project) and other research team tasks.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience with program implementation and data collection; work with education faculty, graduate students, and teachers; learn firsthand about high school science instruction; explore a new field of study; and earn credit for independent research (ED198). Any and all majors welcome, though experience working with children or a STEM field is a plus!

FOr K-12 TEACHERS
We are currently working with Tustin Unified, however; we are hoping to extend our projects to partner with more teachers.
